Mosman Swimming Teacher Allowed To Continue Instructing. The swimming pool teacher who has been charged with over 30 offences on sexual allegations is still on duty. Over 8 young pupils have complained of him over the past 9 months. Kyle Daniels, 20, a graduate of prestigious Knox Grammar School is a student at Sydney University.
“In recent weeks we have observed some unorthodox hands-on instruction. Do not hold children close to groin or chest area,” said the “customer feedback” form read out in court.
“Some of the sexual intercourse allegations occurred after [the complaint] and [while he was] being supervised and handled by the employer,” said Magistrate Daniel Reiss. The Mosman Swim Centre allowed him to continue instructing but as a casual swimming instructor, the court heard.
Also, Mosman Council, which owns the pool, said any enquiries should be made to Aquatic Leisure Management, which “lease, manage and operate” the centre.
The Mosman swimming teacher is allowed to continue instructing despite facing some charges:
- Eight counts of sexual intercourse with a child under 10.
- Six counts of intentionally sexually touching a child under 10.
- 14 counts of indecently assaulting a person under 16.
However, lawyer Todd Alexis said it was “improbable” that Daniels would commit such a serious offence in a public swimming-complex.
